Hi,

I have been browsing your great website and thought I would drop you a quick email and introduce myself.

My name is Harvey and I have been modelling American Railroads for more years than I really care to remember, but I am also a wargamer - well, wild west skirmish gamer to be more precise. I have just completed a three year stint as Membership Secretary for the Slim Gauge Circle here in the UK. I own an On30 layout called "The Layout with No Name" which I exhibit at shows. Although billed as On30 - the buildings are in fact 1/55th but nobody notices. There are a couple of hits if you google it.

Over the past couple of years I realised, like you, that some of the Bachmann On30 stuff is a little "off" scale wise, but it fitted really well with my skirmish games. I have been tinkering with 55n3 and not really knowing I was! I have attached a couple of pictures so you can see what I have been doing. The "Darius" pic is a scratch built mine complex with a small section of HOn30 track laid into one of the buildings - I wrot an article about it for Continental Modeller back last year, which was printed. The figures are a mixture of "Artizan" and "Wargames Foundry". Pic "0612" was a test piece which had a loop of HOn30 track with scratch built stock and buildings; the miniatures are from Dixons - due to the poor running the items were sold off separatley (the figs and buildings being kept). Pic "2212" is a bit of a spoof. It will be a complete game board set in 1920's/30's gangland America. The stock car is a BVM from Dallas M, the figs are from Coplplestone Castings and the background building (not finished) is part of a Lionel O scale engine shed. It will be a warehouse eventually. Please feel free to use the pics on your site - the Darius one will have to be noted as "courtesy of Continental Modeller" though.

So much for a quick e-mail ...

Regards
